Therefore, quick access to an eyewash bottle is essential. Particularly in the case of accidents caused by acids and alkaline damage, chemical burns to the eye begin as soon as the harmful substance comes into contact with the eye. Time is also an important factor in the case of mechanical damage, e.g. metal and wood splinters, dirt or dust. Here, foreign bodies can be prevented from settling in the eye. Eyewash box
according to DIN EN 15154-4- Sterile saline solution: sodium chloride solution (0.9 %), 500 ml, rinsing time approx. 5 minutes per bottle- Ergonomically shaped bottle, which ensures a smooth and even rinse and keeps the eyelids open throughout the rinsing process
Please note:
In the event of an accident, seconds can determine whether vision is lost or impaired. Therefore, quick access to an eyewash bottle is essential. Particularly in the case of accidents caused by acids and alkaline damage, chemical burns to the eye begin as soon as the harmful substance comes into contact with the eye. Time is also an important factor in the case of mechanical damage, e.g. metal and wood splinters, dirt or dust. Here, foreign bodies can be prevented from settling in the eye. Bottles/stations should therefore be kept as close to the workplace as possible to ensure quick access.
Eye emergency plan
In case of foreign bodies:
Recommended rinsing: saline solution, rinsing time approx. 5 min.
In case of acid damage:
Recommended rinsing: pH neutral solution, rinsing time approx. 2 min.
For alkaline damage:
Recommended rinsing: ph-neutral solution, rinsing time approx. 2 min.
It is strongly recommended: After using the ph-neutral solution, rinse the eyes regularly and thoroughly with the saline solution until medical treatment is obtained! Therefore always have both solutions to hand.
